Beautiful Scenic Art Helps Soothe

July 09, 2015

Have you ever been in the waiting room of a doctors office thinking "this wall art sure looks out of date"? We have! It's not fun going to the doctor's office, there could at least be some beautiful soothing art on the walls. Below is an album, that we put together, for just that. Maybe you work at a doctor's office that could use some new art. Well, take a look through this album and be sure to show your office manager. Large photographic fine-art prints are being made available for sale in a number of sizes. Coffee table albums are also available.

Tips for a Better Engagement Session

July 02, 2015

Engagement sessions are a great way for us to get to know one another. Everyone responds differently, when in front of the camera. On your wedding day things can be a bit rushed and nerves might be high, so becoming comfortable with each other beforehand is priceless!

1. Ladies, wear more makeup than you usually do. Even though you may feel like it looks too fake or heavy in person, it will look better on camera. It is even a good idea to schedule your wedding make-up trial for the day of your engagement session.

2. Wear clothes that fit you well. Nothing too baggy or too tight as these things are accentuated on camera and usually end up not being very flattering.

3. Wear some color. Gone are the days where couples wear matching white shirts and jeans! Rich colors look fantastic; plum purple, deep red, dark green, etc. You and your love should coordinate your colors without being too "matchy matchy".

4. Accessorize! Belts, hats, scarves, and necklaces. Don't underestimate the power of some cool shoes at a photo shoot. Show your personality with your accessories. Look at some pictures in the style magazines if you are having trouble putting together a look.

5. Bring multiple options for outfits. It is always good to have choices.

6. Men, be aware of your socks. There is nothing worse than a great shot of you two with some white tube socks taking all the attention away.

7. Men, you might not want to wear your watch. Ok, I know I said to accessorize, but unless you have a Rolex, you may want to leave your watch at home. Watches can catch the light and become a big shiny distracting object.

8. Relax. The most important thing to remember is to try to relax. Focus on each other, not the camera. We will direct you and help you along the way. If we are not saying anything, just keep doing what your doing, it's looking great!

9. Some wonderful affectionate gestures that look great on camera...Guys: kiss her cheek or forehead. Girls: smile or close your eyes when he does. Whisper something sweet or dirty into each other's ears.

10. Remember that you are in love! That is why you are doing this. It is more about that than looking perfect. Be yourself and let us take care of the rest.

Not your average bridal boudoir photo ideas & how to feel confident during your boudoir session

June 25, 2015

Wedding season is in full swing...and so is bridal boudoir! Bridal boudoir is a fun way to capture that bride-to-be glow you’ve been sporting since the day you said “yes”. Not ready to strip down to your underthings for the camera? Or what if lingerie isn’t really your thing? Are you wanting something more sweet than sexy? Who's to say you can’t have a bridal boudoir shoot to remember! Photography is all about perspective. We can capture a beautiful shot of your lips or your legs draped over a vintage lounge. Consider detail shots of your wedding lingerie and accessories you’ll be wearing on your big day. We can keep the focus on the the veil, the engagement ring, the shoes. You can opt for romantic shots that read as sophisticated, elegant, pretty. And who says lingerie has to be involved at all? You can create a sexy boudoir vibe all your own in wearing casual and cozy favorites. Bridal boudoir shoots are all about what makes you feel beautiful. The best photos happen when you’re relaxed, happy, and most important, comfortable. Here's a few tips to consider before you get in-front of the lens:

1. Prepare by finding photo inspiration - Search Pinterest, blogs, and magazine editorials as references. Share your ideas for shots you’d love to do…and those you’re not comfortable with. This will ensure that we are on the same page.

2. Set the mood - Make a playlist of your favorite music and have it available to listen to during your session.

3. Personalize - Bring meaningful props. As mentioned, wedding accessories are great! You can also consider bringing something that belongs to your man; shirt, tie, hat, etc.

4. Be confident - Chances are, you’ve been working hard at the gym and eating healthy before the big day – feel proud of how great you look! Before your shoot, treat yourself to some spa-worthy pampering. A manicure and pedicure can go a long way in helping you feel your best on shoot day. Professional hair and makeup is another pretty way to get camera-ready.

Importance of Wedding Albums - Why we include a wedding album in every package

June 18, 2015

Many couples cherish their wedding day as one of the most important days of their lives! Digital images and prints are definitely an important piece that allow you to reflect back on your wedding day, but an album is the most important piece to focus on. An album is a treasured heirloom! Some couples might display it on a coffee table to look through regularly or some may take it out for special occasions like wedding anniversaries.

Unfortunately, when wedding costs start adding up, some couples may be tempted to move albums down on their priority list. In our opinion, this is a huge mistake. There is no reason why you should pass up the opportunity to have a personalized, high-quality, album telling the story of your most important day. Think of your future. Imagine your children and grand children, in years to come, and what a treasure it will be to show off your wedding photos and describe the memories you have of that most special day. How wonderful it is to have a physical family heirloom (not just digital files) to pass down to your kids...displaying the day when their parents lives became one!

In fact, we believe in this so strongly that we include an album in every single package we offer! Still not convinced that you NEED a wedding album? Here's some more on why digital images are not enough...

When looking for a wedding photographer, most couples want to know if the digital images are offered in the wedding packages. In fact, many couples plan to only purchase the digital images and aren’t interested in anything else. The sad truth is that these well-intentioned couples who only get the digital images never print their wedding photos at all, or only print a few for display. We too are guilty of having hard-drives full of photos that we simply haven’t taken the time to order prints of yet.

Hopefully, you can see why a professional wedding album is of the utmost importance. Even if you never do anything except store it in a closet, you will still have images to look at and enjoy years from now with no additional work whatsoever. After your wedding, we will custom design your wedding album in a beautiful storybook format. We only offer professional, high quality, albums made with archival inks and papers that are created to last for generations with proper care. We want the memories of your wedding day to be seen and enjoyed by your family for years to come. Make a beautiful album one of your priorities. We promise you will not regret it.
